The best photos for drawing are not "straight on". Try to get one with the head slightly turned or at a slight angle. The animal doesn't need to be looking directly at the camera. -

Pictures that are too far away or the image is not clear will not work. -

Try to capture the "mood" you would like portrayed in your portrait--whether it be happy and playful or more of a serious and dignified pose. -
